Replaced by: DS1307 clock module for Arduino with battery backup
Real time clock module with battery back-up. Thanks to it you can equip any Arduino-based (and not only) device with an accurate, independently powered clock. The time will be kept even with the main power supply turned off.
The module is based on DS1307 chip which is accessed with I2C protocol.
WARNING!
This circuit is vulnerable to wrong voltage polarisation - it may even burn it! So you'd better check the polarisation twice :)
The set contains:
Connecting to ArduinoTo boards from Arduino family the module can be connected with wires (RTC module is a part of Seeedstudio's Electronic Brick system) or directly to the board (with pin headers). At this time we haven't yet the wires for these modules, but it seems the most convenient connecting method. The plug has 4 pins and looks as the picture shows:
You can directly sit this module on Arduino. Just solder two header pins together with ICSP socket. The two pins shall go to Arduino 4 and 5 analog pins (these are responsible for I2C communication). ICSP slot is used to provide power to the module.
