Soil moisture sensor allows you to plan watering flowers or a small garden. Works in home conditions. In our opinion, any Maker who think about automating the watering system for home flowers should have it.

The principle of this type of sensors is very simple. The capacitance of the electrodes on PCB inserted into the soil changes with the amount of water. Unlike resistance sensors, capacitive sensors do not corrode, which is an undoubted advantage.

The capacitive soil moisture sensor is supplied with 3.3 to 5.5V. At the output you get an analog signal (voltage). How to use it in practice you will learn from the prepared article on the StarterKit blog
