This is functional replacement for TLC5940 THT. With SSOP28-DIP28 adapter You can get TLC5940 easy to connect. DIP version of TLC540 is not available anymore. What is this chip? It has 16 channels of PWM and can be used to drive LEDs.
Verify pinout
TLC5940 in SMD version has a few differences in pinout compared to old DIP version. Before You use this chip verify that is connected correctly.
