The MB1403 HRUSB MaxSonar EZ0 sensor is a sensor with a relatively wide beam, perfect for detecting people. Precise (accuracy up to 1 mm) and with a large maximum range (5 meters). It is perfect for interactive kiosks or systems that need to detect the presence of a user in general.
A big advantage is the interface - a micro USB socket and a built-in USB/Serial converter. After connecting to a computer, a serial port appears, on which the sensor transmits the current reading every 250 ms. The transmission parameters are 57600 baud. Thanks to this interface, the sensor is intended for use with embedded computers (Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black) rather than classic microcontrollers.
