Convenient prototyping with the ESP-32

Years fly by, connectors age… That’s why we have a similar board (the same size!) to the ESP32, but with a USB-C connector, the current de-facto standard when it comes to connectors. MOD-2404

This development module outputs 30 pins in a 2x15 layout on a breadboard. The ESP-32 is a powerful SoC. It has built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and two very fast cores. All this at a ridiculous price considering its specifications. For more detailed specifications of the ESP-32, please refer to the page of the ESP-WROOM-32 module on which this development board was built. We also offer the NodeMCU-32 module, which has 38 pins.

In addition to the aforementioned ESP-WROOM-32, the board also features several important components. The most important of these are:

  • Micro USB connector - this allows you to power and program the board.
  • USB-to-Serial converter, in this case the CP2102 - this is responsible for communication with the ESP-32 chip.
  • AMS1117 voltage regulator - provides a stable power supply to the module. In theory, you can apply up to 15V to the VIN pin, and this circuit will convert it to a nice 3.3V. However, remember that the higher the supply voltage, the more heat the chip will generate.
